How to Optimise Your Vape Battery Life

Jan 09, 2025 • 4 min read

In this guide, we offer practical tips and techniques to help you understand how to maintain your vape battery’s performance.

What is a vape battery?

A vape battery is the essential power source for your vaping device which turns e-liquid into vapour.

Lithium-ion batteries are found in many electronic devices, such as vaping products (e-cigarettes).

How long should a vape battery last?

The lifespan of a vape battery can vary depending on several things, including but not limited to the battery chemistry, usage and maintenance.

Tips to maintain your vape battery’s performance

There are a few things to keep in mind that may maintain your vape battery’s performance.

The most important thing is to always follow the instructions on the device user manual or packaging to ensure you’re using your Vuse vape as intended.

Use the appropriate charger for your device

Using the proper charger for your vape is an important and straightforward way to look after the battery. If you have a rechargeable device, chargers for different devices or counterfeit replacements might not be compatible and can damage your battery.

Always use vape accessories provided by the manufacturer.

Don’t overcharge

Do not charge your battery for longer than the recommended charging time. Overcharging can cause your battery to overheat.

Do not attempt to modify or tamper with your vape battery

Avoid damaging or tampering with your vape’s battery. Don't use batteries that:

·       are swollen or dented

·       have torn, plastic wrappers

·       show other signs of damage or wear

Keep the charging port clean

Dirt and debris in your vape charging port can interfere with the charging process. Keep the charging area clean to protect your battery’s lifespan.

Store and charge your vape at room temperature

Overheating or cold conditions can make batteries deteriorate faster. Don’t leave batteries out in the sun or in a hot or cold car. Charge your device at room temperature1

The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety advises consumers not to charge batteries on a soft surface, as it can cause heat to be trapped around the battery2.

Avoid chain vaping

Chain vaping – taking puffs on your vape in quick succession – can cause your vape battery to overheat, reducing its lifespan. Take a short break between puffs to avoid overheating.

What to do if your vape battery stops working

There could be a few reasons your vape battery stops working. Start by checking for any obvious issues, like a clogged charging port or faulty charger.

If the problem persists, it might be because your vape has reached the end of its life. In this case, it’s time to replace your vape with a new device kit or disposable vape, depending on your preference.

Report any battery-related injuries directly to the original manufacturer3.

Explore Vuse rechargeable vapes

The Vuse vape range includes Vuse PRO Smart vapes, with a slim design and more powerful battery that can charge up to 80% in just 20 minutes. Vuse PRO Smart devices are compatible with Vuse Pods in assorted e-liquid flavours.

Take full control of your Vuse PRO Smart with the MYVUSE App, setting recharge reminders to get notified when your battery is low.
