If it isn’t disposed responsibly, e-waste can pose a substantial risk to the environment. The World Economic Forum considers e-waste the fastest growing waste stream in the world, and with the immense popularity of vaping – including the popularity of Vuse – across the world, responsible disposal of vape cartridges and safe disposal of vape juice is our mission.

E-waste is defined as any item that is powered by electricity, from old TVs to kettles, laptops, cell phones and, yes, you guessed it, vapes. And while e-cigarettes and pods may look small and innocuous, they contain electronic components, a battery, vape liquid residue and hard plastic that needs to be broken down, recycled where possible and disposed of responsibly to prevent them from ending up in landfill sites. If you throw them in the bin with your usual household waste, they are guaranteed to end up on a landfill site, contributing to the enormous environmental impact such waste is having on our planet.

At Vuse our mission is to minimise our impact on the environment and be as responsible as we possibly can. We launched our Drop the Pod initiative to allow customers to get rid of their used pods conveniently and safely. Together we have safely disposed of more than 2 000 000 used pods in South Africa so far!
Simply collect up all your used pods and drop them off at a Vuse Inspiration Store at a time that’s convenient and we will hand them over to our sustainability partners on your behalf, from where they will be disposed of responsibly.

We are doing our part to reduce plastic pollution by eliminating single-use plastics – which wreak havoc on marine habitats across the globe – from our packaging. All Vuse packs are constructed from recycled cardboard, and we have removed plastic film from all Vuse device kits and pod packaging – that’s the equivalent of four million plastic bottles!

The key to a long life for your Vuse battery is to charge it properly, which means putting it on charge before the battery runs out completely or, preferably when the battery charge reaches the halfway mark. Although Vuse batteries stop charging after three hours we still recommend that you unplug them after they are fully charged to prevent overcharging and never leave them unattended while they are charging.

Extreme temperatures can damage the intricate components of your Vuse device, potentially shortening its lifespan, so don’t leave it in direct sunlight or close to heat sources, or damp places.

The deliciously flavoured juice inside your sealed Vuse pods is also subject to degradation in flavour and quality if incorrectly stored. Keep the vape juice inside your pods as fresh by storing them in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight, and avoiding damp places.
