INTRODUCTION TO VAPING
Before we start, let’s define vape and vaping. Vaping refers to the act of inhaling vapour through a battery powered e-cigarette as opposed to inhaling smoke from a combustible cigarette. This requires the purchase of an e-cigarette and the use of eLiquids which are vaporised to provide a variety of flavour sensations and to deliver nicotine. As there is no combustion, you inhale the eLiquid's vapour, rather than smoke.
HOW VAPING DEVICES WORK
Used by adult smokers who prefer a vaping experience, e-cigarettes are battery powered electronic devices which hold a liquid that contains nicotine. How do vape pens work? Well, vaping devices are made up of a battery, a USB point used to charge the battery cell, a heating element, a mouthpiece and an eLiquid reservoir (also referred to as a tank). While different types of vape pens and devices have different components, all vaping devices have a reservoir to house the eLiquid flavours and/or Nic Salts. One key difference between vaping devices comes with how the vapour is heated and the vapour’s journey when inhaled.
Classic vaping devices, such as the Twisp Cue and Clearo ranges contain a coil (also referred to as an atomiser head) and cotton wick to heat and vaporise the eLiquid flavours. These devices usually contain an LED button to activate the heating process and a mouthpiece from which to draw the vapour. This vaping style is referred to as Classic (MTL) as you draw vapour through your mouth and then inhale. This allows the vapour to sit in your mouth, allowing your taste buds to enjoy the settling flavour of the selected eLiquid. Classic (MTL) vaping focuses more on the taste and helps you extend your vaping sessions.

The Power vaping style (also known as STL) means that you inhale the vapour without holding it in your mouth first.
If your e-cigarette or vape pen has a tight draw on its adjustable airflow, this can create a hotter vape. The throat experience is usually more intense and the sensation from the nicotine is amplified. Open systems, a.k.a "AIO" explained
All-In-One (AIO) systems, or open system devices, are refillable and require more involvement. Most devices activate by pressing a button, and some require you to hold the button down while vaping.
