A VAPER’S GUIDE TO VAPING ETIQUETTE
Vaping isn’t smoking, but the same consideration for others and an awareness of your environment applies. As vaping continues to grow in popularity, applying some simple vaping etiquette can go a long way in ensuring that you can continue enjoying vaping without disturbing those around you.
We’ve compiled a list of basic vaping do’s and don’ts, and dig into some of the spoken and unspoken principles when it comes to vaping responsibly and considerately.
So where can I vape?
There’s currently no legislation banning vaping in public spaces in South Africa. The owners and management of the place or venue you are visiting may have a policy on vaping, which should be adhered to. If you are unsure, please ask.
Can I vape while travelling?
Whether you are travelling by bus, train or plane, always adhere to the rules of the service provider. It’s always best to wait until you’re in a designated area to vape. While travelling, ensure that you store your vape safely and properly. It is best to always keep your vape on your person or safely tucked away in your personal bag. If you use an open system device, it is best to try and store the device in an upright position.
Am I allowed to vape in the workplace?
So, you’ve picked your perfect Vuse Pod colour to match your work outfit for the day, but before enjoying a well-earned vape break at the office, it’s good to know that many companies have their own policies on vaping as well as where and when you can use your vape. Familiarise yourself with the rules and ensure you abide by them.
Wherever you choose to enjoy your vape, what’s most important is being considerate to the people around you. If you’re unclear whether it’s acceptable to vape where you are or if the people around you are comfortable with you vaping near them, a courteous vaper always asks first.
